I have gone over to the snow-side, officially. I purchased my first set of cross country skis (classical/touring; none of that skate-nonsense for me).
Despite the weather being above freezing w/ rain/sleet, I went out to Hyak Sno-Park and got on the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. It has been really warm lately, unfortunately, and when that and rain were combined with multiple freezing events, you get avalanches, including little baby avalanches that only take out perfectly flat cross-country ski trails.
